These are tough times for businesses and organizations connected to the book/publishing world, and there have been several mystery and writers' conference cancellations in the past couple of years. The latest to join that group is Deadly Ink, the annual event held in Parsippany, New Jersey that was scheduled for August 5-7 with Guest of Honor Hank Phillippi Ryan and Toastmaster Jeff Markowitz. Event coordinator Debby Buchanan notes that all registrations will be refunded in full, and all author materials returned.
No word yet on whether the David Award (with nominations recently announced) will still be handed out or whether the conference will return next year, but we hope so and wish Debby and Deadly Ink all the best.
