In honor of the anniversary of the birth of mystery writer Earl Derr Biggers, film historian Steven Fredrick is hosting "The Charlie Chan Mystery Weekend" in Honolulu. Sunday, August 22nd, Fredrick plays tour guide for the Charlie Chan Mystery Tour, a walking tour to Chinatown sites related to police detective Chang Apana. On Monday, August 23rd, Fredrick will host a vintage movie screening of a rarely-seen Charlie Chan film. Reservations are required, and if you're rich enough for a last-minute getaway or just happen to be in Honolulu on those date, call (808) 395-0674 to reserve a spot.
